Translation
It is one thing to learn a language, but it is another thing to translate languages. With my academic background in languages and translation, I have experience in translating a multitude of text types, and found myself most enjoying screen translation. This works alongside my screenwriting as it enables the production of a screenplay in several languages, easing the film’s final production and distribution processes. Similarly to dubbing, I compare the syllables of possible translations to convey the precise meaning of the source text before the scene cuts out. Sometimes, I push myself to develop my knowledge of a language I am less fluent in by using it for screen translation.
